About the group
From post war reconstruction to a group of fifteen companies
Chroo Group began by providing civil engineering and construction services to US prime contractors including USACE, CH2M Hill, ECCI, Tetra Tech, ITSI and URS. Working to Western specifications from the first day shaped the way we operate: health and safety, quality control and disciplined project management became the foundation of the business.
That experience became the springboard for diversification. Today the group operates across construction, oil and gas services, logistics, vehicle leasing, trading and distribution, prefabricated buildings, design, agriculture, catering and hospitality.
The group holds USACE MATOC status, maintains a long standing partnership with KBR at Erbil Airbase, and has delivered for the armed forces of the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Finland, Belgium and the Netherlands.

Leadership
A founder who built the company from the ground up
Quality with integrity is the best business plan.
Mr. Shwan Simko grew up in Erbil and founded Chroo Group after the liberation of Iraq, seeing a gap in the market for a local contractor able to work to international standards. Beginning with small civil works for prime contractors, he built the company into one of the fastest growing groups in the Kurdistan Region.
